The Global Career Center is produced by experienced career consultants from Japan, the US and various other Asian countries. The consultants can provide you with local job information as well as career advice for specific locations in Asia. We will have designated desks for each country, and will help you with any questions or concerns you might have pertaining to the specific country you are thinking about working or living in.
We will be taking reservations at the Global Career Center Information Booth. Please fill out an application form and we will refer you to one of the country-specific desks or to the Job Hunting Help Desk. There is no pre-registration for the Global Career Center, please come prepared and give yourself ample time to take full advantages of the resources. Please remember to bring a copy of your resume if you wish to be considered for open positions.

Japan Desk |
Due to the internationalization of the Japanese social economy, hiring specialized foreign workers has become more of a necessity for Japanese companies who wish to stay internationally competitive. At end of 2006, the number of registered foreign residents exceeded 2,000,000 and make up approximately 1.63 percent of the Japanese population. As a result there are increasing opportunities for those with experience living or studying in Japan to find successful employment with Japanese companies. In 2006, the number of international students in Japan who eventually found employment with a Japanese company was 8,272 people. A 40.7% increase from 2005. According to recent working visa application trends, it is clear that the majority of jobs for foreigners exist in the information industry as opposed to manufacturing. Translation, interpretation, information processing, sales, as well as international business are among the numerous positions available. In addition, due to the recent changes in J-SOX and compliance laws, there is also a developing trend of increased necessity for specialists in accounting, human resources and law.

The Hong Kong Desk, similar to the China provides career advice, job market consulting and other useful information to all those of you who hope to make use of your English linguistic ability and pursue a career in Hong Kong. In addition, specialized information on living in Hong Kong is also available. Appointments are not required so please feel free to come to the booth at any time with any questions or concerns you might have.

Singapore Desk |
The Singapore Desk provides specialized career advice, job market consulting and other useful information to all those of you who hope to make use of your linguistic ability and pursue a career in Singapore. Consultants from Pasona Singapore will also be staffing the desk and be able to provide advice and consultations for open job positions in Singapore. Please drop by on the day of the event at any time and bring a copy of your resume if you wish to be considered for open positions. Thailand Desk |
The Thailand Desk is available to all participants who are interested in making use of their English or Thai language ability and pursuing an exciting career in Thailand. There are many open positions for college graduates with English ability, approximately 150 job openings a month. Pasona Thailand will be staffing the desk and available to provide localized information as well as career and job market advice. The Job Hunting Help Desk is sponsored by Pasona NA, Inc. The Career consultants can provide you with advice and support as well as answer questions regarding your job search. Any specific questions pertaining to job seeking the United States will be answered at this desk. Resume consultations, interview strategy and business makeup advice is available. Be aware we expect this booth to become crowded during the event so please come with ample time in order to take full advantage of the all resources.
